Season Wrap; NYC; Donation Push

Happy Friday Fellow Ruggers,

As we wrap up another great season for GW Rugby, the board wants to share some highlights, upcoming events, and exciting updates on our end-of-year campaign.

Season Wrap-Up

Another fall season is in the books and we are proud to share some insights into the club’s successful campaign. GW Rugby finished with 4 wins and only 2 losses — both to national Top 20 programs. Even more impressive: the team earned try bonus points in every win, showing off some real attacking flair.

We wrapped the fall with a 3rd place finish in the MARC D3 South and capped things off by taking home the Bowl Bracket Championship over MARC D3 North. The club’s culture, fitness, and commitment continue to grow — and the results are showing.

NYC Alumni Meetup – Wednesday, November 19th

Calling all New York-area alumni! Join us for a GW Rugby meetup on Wednesday, November 19th, from 5:30–7:30 PM at Stout (39th & 6th Ave).

It’s a great chance to reconnect, swap stories, and raise a pint to another successful season for the club. Reach out to Board VP Ryan Tucker (rrtucker@gmail.com) or Board Secretary Jack Brandon (jackbrandon2018@gmail.com) with any questions.

The Driving Maul End-of-Year Donation Push

Our annual Driving Maul donation campaign is live now at gwmensrugby.com/donate!

Here’s what makes this year’s drive a huge opportunity:

  • Dollar-for-dollar match on the first $2,500 donated
  • Corporate match programs can triple your impact (use our EIN: 82-1151809)
  • Receive a free alumni t-shirt with any donation $50 or over or a new monthly commitment of $9.50+

Every contribution directly supports the students who wear the jersey today — funding match fees, equipment, and long-term stability for the club.

Financial Overview Attached

We’re ending the year on solid financial footing and with exciting plans ahead:

  • + $1,600 projected net operating cash flow for 2025
  • New savings investment account (CD) launching Q1 2026
  • Short-term goals:
    • Launch a once-per-year scholarship
    • Grow Alumni Weekend attendance
    • Expand monthly donor incentives
  • Long-term goals:
    • Elevate the Brawl on the Mall as a premier event
    • Support regional and international touring
    • Establish a permanent team house

We’re building momentum, structure, and sustainability — all while keeping the spirit of GW Rugby alive and thriving.

Thanks to everyone who has supported, coached, played, donated, or simply stayed connected. Together, we’re making a real impact for the next generation of Revolutionaries.

We look forward to seeing our New York area alums next week, and we hope to see you all pushing the driving maul forward at gwmensrugby.com/donate!
